The 3rd Interactive Session of the planned country wide series of interactive sessions on “Peace & Tolerance – Youth Centrality” was held on 26th of October, 2017, at Islamic International University, Islamabad (IIUI), under the joint arrangement of NACTA and IIUI.
National Coordinator, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Mr. Ihsan Ghani urged youth to contribute their role in setting up tolerant and extremism-free society in the country.
Speaking at an interactive session / seminar on ‘peace and tolerance ─ youth centrality’ with students of Islamic International University here on Thursday, he invited students to join hands with NACTA and become its partners in fight against terrorism and extremism in the country. The interactive session/ seminar was third of the series of the Youth Engagement Program by NACTA.
The National Coordinator asked students to be part of the authority through internships, contributing write ups, and holding inter-provincial college level debates and dialogues. “These initiatives will help minimizing conflicts, establishing harmony amongst heterogeneous social groups and setting up tolerant society”, he added.
He dilated at length about peace and tolerance, extremism its sources, intolerance its types, reasons, effects and how to counter intolerance. He emphasized students to play their role in turning Pakistan into a vibrant, tolerant and peaceful society. Later, the NC replied questions raised by students.
Vice President Islamic International University, Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik and Students’ Adviser of the varsity Dr. Tariq Javed also spoke on the occasion.
