NACTA has embarked upon a country-wide plan to interact and engage in dialogue through interactive sessions and talks on “Peace and Tolerance” with students of high schools, colleges and universities, in the light of the directions of Minister for Interior, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal and under the guidance of Mr. Ihsan Ghani, PSP. In NACTA the the Counter Violent Extremism (CVE) Wing has been entrusted to coordinate the task.
The initiative is aimed at sensitizing our youth, which forms 60% of the total population of Pakistan, on the subjects of extremism, its sources and how to counter this menace.
Pursuant to this initiative, first interactive session on the topic of “Peace and Tolerance” was held on October 4, 2017 with the students of Islamia College Peshawar. National Coordinator NACTA Mr. Ihsan Ghani delivered a comprehensive presentation to around 500 students of Political Science, International Relations and various social science disciplines of the College. Professor Dr. Naushad Khan Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Abaseen Yousafzai Director Students Affairs, senior management and faculty members were present during the sessions.
