The National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) conducted a Training of Trainers (TOT) workshop at the Pakistan Girls Guide Association in Islamabad.This capacity-building initiative empowered trainers/ girl guides with the knowledge, skills, and expertise necessary to effectively promote peace, tolerance, and social cohesion among youth.
Objectives of this TOT workshop include:
– Enhanced capacity of trainers to design and deliver training programs on peace building, conflict resolution, and counter-narrative strategies.
– Increased awareness and understanding of the importance of peace, tolerance, and social harmony among trainers and subsequently, among youth.
– Improved skills of trainers in facilitating interactive and engaging training sessions, promoting participatory learning and critical thinking.
– Multiplier effect: trained trainers can cascade their knowledge and skills to a larger audience, amplifying the impact of the training program.
– Strengthened partnership between NACTA and the Pakistan Girls Guide Association, fostering a collaborative approach to promoting peace and social cohesion.
– Contribution to the development of a peaceful and inclusive society, where youth are equipped with the skills and values necessary to promote tolerance, coexistence, and social harmony.
Senior Analyst Zooni Ashfaq and Analyst Hussain Rizvi conducted the workshop in which 50 plus Master Girl Guides from all over Pakistan participated. By conducting this TOT workshop, NACTA demonstrated its commitment to empowering trainers and promoting peace, tolerance, and social cohesion among youth, ultimately contributing to a more harmonious and peaceful society.
