NACTA BOARD OF GOVERNORS’ SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING HELD

NACTA HOLDS ITS FIRST COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS MEETING

As per the recommendations of NACTA’s 2nd Board of Governors Meeting held in October 2020, on agenda item No.11, a Sub-Committee was formed to review restructuring of Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) of NACTA and recommend a viable solution towards an effective intelligence sharing and Coordination role of NACTA with other stakeholders in countering terrorism in the country.

Accordingly, the said Sub-Committee comprising of National Coordinator NACTA, Additional Secretary Interior Division, Joint Secretary, Finance Division, D.G. (IB), D.G. (CT) ISI, I.G. Gilgit Baltistan, Secretary Home and Tribal Affairs of government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and as an expert Mr. Tariq Parvez, Inspector General of Police (Rtd.), held its first meeting on 3rd February 2021 at NACTA Headquarters, Islamabad.

The said Sub-Committee discussed current structure of JID, its human resource strength, role and responsibilities in depth and agreed upon NACTA’s proposal to abolish Joint Intelligence Directorate (JID) and suggested an alternative arrangement of creating an Intelligence Wing at NACTA with appropriate human resource strength for an effective and viable role to offer for better coordination among the stakeholders.

Recommendations of the Sub-Committee shall be presented in next Board of Governors meeting for its approval.
